The “Last Supper” &“Holy Communion” Exposed!

Beloved, there is no such thing as a “Last Supper” in any of the Gospel accounts!

We were taught by the nuns that this event called “The Last Supper” was the institution of a BRAND NEW ORDINANCE called “HOLY COMMUNION,” where our Messiah offered up his body and blood in the form of a little round wafer and a cup of grape juice.

There was no mention of the First Passover where Yisra’el (Israel) was delivered out of Egyptian Slavery. Neither was the connection made between that First Passover in Egypt to our Messiah who became that fulfillment of the Passover Lamb and delivered us from SLAVERY TO SIN!

And even now, within Messianic & Hebraic groups (just like the Catholic Church), people are still trying to separate our Messiah from the Passover Meal by claiming that he was only eating a LAST SUPPER!

Our Messiah was not giving us a brand new ordinance called “Holy Communion” when he said “As often as you do this, do this in IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME” (1st Corinthians 11:24-25; Luke 22:19).

Instead, he was repeating the commandment to remember what he did for us at the first Passover and what he was about to do for us in the Renewed Covenant Passover:

The Roman Church invented a brand new ordinance called “Holy Communion,” citing that this was a brand new commandment. But the Greek word “communion” (koinonia) simply means “fellowship.”

In 1st Corinthians 10:16, the Apostle Shaul (Paul) was not describing a “communion wafer.” He was talking about the fellowship or “partnership” we have with Messiah and his sacrifice when we partake of the “Cup of Blessing,” which is one of the four cups at a typical Jewish Seder Passover Meal!

By treating this meal as a separate ordinance, we are agreeing with the Vatican that this was not a Passover Meal, but instead it was called “Holy Communion”or the “The Last Supper!”

In Luke 22:15, our Messiah knew that he was going to suffer and die as the Passover Lamb the next day, and yet he told his disciples that he “desired to eat the Passover with them BEFORE HE SUFFERED.”

It was not as if his Passover Meal plans got derailed, or that he was caught off guard when he was arrested that night. He knew that he was going to eat a Passover Meal and then suffer the next day.

Listen to what he said:

He knew he as about to suffer, so it is not as if he planned to eat it, but then his plans were derailed. 

This begs the question: “How could he believe that he could eat a Passover Meal with them, and then also become the Passover, all withing the same 24 hours? 

He knew that Exodus 12:6 commands that the lambs be killed “between the two evenings”or “between the two sunsets” on the 14th of Abib!

He knew that this commandment gave him the ability to do both “eat the Passover” and then “become the Passover” all within the same 24-hour period of the 14th of Abib!

Do you think that the disciples went to the Temple to eat a Passover Meal after watching the bloody, gruesome death of their Messiah?

I hardly think so!

As a matter of fact, the Apostle John was there at his crucifixion, but he was not at the Temple standing in line waiting to have his lamb slaughtered!

And what does the Towrah say about those who do not partake of the Passover Lamb?

It says that they shall be cut off from the Congregation of Yisra’el!

What conclusion can we come to?

The disciples had already eaten their Passover Meal the night before with their Messiah and then the next day, they witnessed him being killed as the Passover Lamb!

Imagine the compassion that he showed towards his disciples by allowing them to partake of a very intimate and private Passover with him, knowing full well that they would be grief-stricken the next day, and unable to keep their composure at the Temple with all those who had plotted their master’s murder!

Not to mention, the disciples were in danger of being arrested and killed themselves for being his followers! 

For both of these reasons, it is highly unlikely that they would have shown their faces at the Temple to eat the Passover on the 15th of Abib, while their Messiah was being buried!

I don’t know about you, but I would have been bawling my eyes out, and wailing in grief after having witnessed my beloved Messiah’s brutal torture. There is no way that I would have been able to eat a meal, much less keep quiet and act cheerful at the Temple, especially if I had caught just one glimpse of the High Priest Caiaphas, I would have wanted to lunge at him and rip his head off!

In First Century Jerusalem, there were TWO EVENINGS for slaughtering, because the Sadducee’s & Samaritans believed in eating the Passover Meal on the 14th of Abib, while the Pharisees ate the Passover on the 15th of Abib.

YaHuWaH in his eternal wisdom, designed the Passover to be killed BETWEEN THE EVENINGS or BETWEEN THE TWO SUNSETS on the 14th of Abib.

He did this ON PURPOSE so that in the future, our Messiah would first EAT THE PASSOVER and then also BECOME THE PASSOVER all on the 14th of Abib!

There are TWO EVENINGS on the 14th of Abib for slaughtering lambs because there are TWO HOUSES of Yisra’e!

The reason this is so important, is because people are beginning to cast doubt on the validity of the Briyth Chadashah (New Testament), and many have left our Messiah because of this.

The main reason people are confused about this is because of the phrase “between the two evenings”(ben ha’erebiym).

If you look up the two words (between & evening), it literally means “between the two sunsets!”

This phrase is not limited to the time of the evening sacrifice from twelve noon until sundown, (although it can also mean that as well).

YaHuWaH designed Passover in the same way as he did Yom Kippur as it is “from evening to evening” (the evening of the 9th of Tishri into the 10th of Tishri).

YaHuWaH knew that in the future, they were going to need 24 hours (from sunset to sunset) on the 14th of Abib to slaughter thousands of lambs from those traveling to Jerusalem.
